The Nut Eaters have had a rough go of it this season, most notably having failed to secure a win ever since trading Chuba Hubbard for Travis Kelce. After five weeks, they sit at a league-worst 1-4, and are one of the lower-scoring teams.

On paper this team should be a terror, but a slow start from their quarterback and injury issues have kept a tight lid on this team week after week. If they could just stop stalling out on offense, there could actually be a chance at making a wild-card play this season.

Derek's Team Pain is looking to take advantage of a relatively easier matchup this week after having faced titans each of the last four weeks. Escaping with a 2-3 record is nothing to scoff at, as he now has a chance to officially enter the race for the playoffs and go for 3-3 this week against Edgeville.

Unfortunately, it is my solemn duty as Commissioner to expose a grave act of managerial negligence. Randy Todd, owner of the Edgeville Nut Eaters, knowingly or unknowingly committed one of fantasy football's cardinal sins: Not Checking His Lineup.

DJ Moore had been officially labeled as OUT well before the Sunday games kicked off, yet the owner of the Nut Eaters did nothing to remedy the situation.

Moore did not play a snap, get targeted, or hell, even make it to the stadium.

Unfortunately, this happens from time to time in the league and there isn't much I can do as commissioner to fight back on owner neglect. Every team deserves to be cherished, preserved, and given a chance to win no matter the situation.

Let this all be a lesson to you owners out there. Check your lineups, I know you're on your phone anyway.

Funnily enough, this err in judgement from RTJ came at the most inopportune time. Although Drake Maye finally started to find his mojo again, Derrick Henry had his first misstep of the season and only put up 5 points. Combine this with Moore holding space for all those eligible free agents and some truly shitty special teams picks and you end up with a measly 112 points despite some good contributions from most of your roster.

Team Pain didn't exactly explode on the stat sheet themselves, but they had everyone show up on Sunday. A rare return to form for Emeka Egbuka (17.8pts) and yet another strong running game from D'Andre Swift set this team up well early. There were some mistakes made on King's part as well though, starting Tyler Allgeier despite him being a backup player and Rico Dowdle sitting there ready to go on his bench.

In the end, though, the Nut Eaters left too much of a crack in the door and Sunday Night Football provided just enough garbage time for Derek to take advantage. With just one player remaining, George Pickens, Team Pain chipped away all night at the thin Edgeville lead. And with the game essentially over in the fourth quarter, Pickens picked up a handful of receptions and just squeaked in enough points to give his team a three-point victory.

Remember, kids, check your lineups. Because sometimes the difference between keeping your playoff hopes alive and burying your season is simply starting someone who actually showed up to work.
