Man, I've been waiting all season to write this article. Nothing is more painful than watching a team do everything right, only to get repeatedly mugged by the fantasy schedule

The Slashers are quite the enigma so far in this 2026 fantasy season. They currently sit fifth in scoring overall, have scored fewer than 135 points just once, and own four top-10 players at their respective positions.

Unfortunately, after four straight weeks of facing the worst possible opponents, they had the most points against outpacing the next highest team, the Racers, by over 40 points.

That finally changed this week, as the Slashers appear poised to secure their first win of the season against the reigning champions, the Reapers.

Now, I'm getting a little ahead of myself, since the matchup isn't officially over. But I'm willing to bet Dalton Kincaid won't outscore Kyren Williams by 27 points tonight. So sue me.

The Slashers didn't exactly swing for the fences this week, but another 130-plus-point performance should finally get the job done. Trey McBride even chipped in with some absurd garbage-time production against the Lions.

Start your receivers against the Lions man, just trust me, they'll cook.

We can't give the Slashers all the credit, though. The Reapers appear to have contracted the mother of all injury bugs.

As of this writing, I kid you not, the Reapers have SEVEN players ruled out with injuries this week. Their entire bench is marked "Out," and both IR slots are already occupied. Seven players. Two IR slots. Absolutely brutal.

This is a league first, and honestly, I can't even roast Nick for this one. There's bad luck, there's fantasy football, and then there's whatever the hell is happening to the Reapers right now.

Overall, I am still happy our site creator has found his first W of the 2026 season. He may need to relish it though as both the Slashers and Nick's Reapers both find themselves with very tough matchups in Week 6.

A loss next week could put either team's playoff hopes in serious jeopardy. And if that happens, they'll have to find their dopamine elsewhere—perhaps in a four-person league where nobody knows what a waiver claim is.
